The Basics
There's one single security that you can trade. You want to buy low, sell high
to make money. You can also sell first (aka "shorting" the security) first
high and buy back low. For simplicity, there is no interest on borrowed capital.
Trading against others (and bots)
Your trades will have real market impact on the prices. If you buy too much,
prices will go up, and vice versa. Getting out of a big position will be expensive.
There will also be automated trading bots in the market that can outsmart you or be
outsmarted by you.
Monitor market conditions
Fair value of the security changes over time. There will also be news (WIP) that can impact
its value. Pay close attention to those.
Monitor Your Risk
You have a fixed 10000 risk limit. This means that
if you go too long (net position > 10000) or too short (net position < 10000) you will
be market liquidated. You don't want that
to happen. Monitor your risk carefully. Note that this 10000 is 10000 shares of the security,
not $10000 in dollar.
